An Only Child
Yes that's me! An only child! I think I like it! Last night Mommy took me to see some dogs named Rocket & Ozzy. I didn't like sharing my Mommy with Rocket, & Rocket didn't want to play with me! He was an old daschund/chihuahua mix & he just didn't like me at all! No matter how much I tried to share popsicles with him or wrestle, NOTHING! Ozzy was too big to play & her Mommy was scared she would hurt me. Ozzy is a pitbull puppy & even though she just wanted to play Ozzy doesn't know her own strength. Needless to say I didn't have a good time...I was ready to go home & snuggle with my Mommy. When we got home Mommy & Daddy had a long talk & finally came to a decision that I need too much attention,(which is fine with Mommy) when we move into our new home I can have my friend Buddy come over as often as I like, we will have small dog meet ups at our house so I can meet new dogs. Mommy & Daddy say they are just going to focus on me! That's the way I like it!Eduardo's Mommy Here: I don't think that I can bring another animal in the home. We don't have the budget & I just can't share Eduardo & he can't share me. Yes we are very selfish but that's just how it is...maybe another day...I hope that's not mean, I just know I won't love the other dog/kitty/hammie/bird as much as Eduardo & I don't think it's fair to them. As of today, my husband & I think Eduardo would be better as an only child.

there is nothing wrong with that at all. You do what is best for you guys.
Eduardo, you are such a cute little bundle. Some doggies are that way. I would be that way, too, if I could. I do not like sharing and I howl when I have to share. Sounds like your parents have a good plan--but you never know, someday there may be another who is just right, too. We all have different personalities.
love & wags,
River
Dear Eduardo
I don't like to share either, but no one asked me. I just hope my sissie E.Beth can take Teka back soon. You are lucky to have your mommy to snuggle. Give her a couple for me.

Hey Eduardo, I'm glad your family has come to an understanding! Not everybody needs a brother or sister. You are the perfect only child, and that's great for you guys.
I'd like a brother or sister but haven't convinced my dad and mom that I NEED one yet.
As much as mom would like to foster or adopt another dog, she thinks I'd be better as an only child too. Especially, since it's just the two of us!
I don't like to share, and I'm kind of a bully.
That sounds cool to us. We love each other, but truthfully we would probably have been just as happy as only doggies. We both think mom loves us best!

Dude, I totally hear ya. Being an only child rocks! It has been kind of nice having the little fuzz ball stay with us for a while but when she leaves...fine by me!
Sharing your Mommy is STUPID!

It is a very difficult decision to bring another pup into the fold when you have one who really loves you. I struggled with it with my pug- who is the pug love of my life. I decided to not get another pug because HE is my pug, if that make sense. It did work out thank goodness. Eduardo you shouldn't have a second thought about wanting your mommy all to yourself. Be selfish!
We think that the decision you have made is the right one for you at this time. You and your mom have a special bond. Continue to nourish that bond.
Hopefully you love the new house.
I thinks you should totally stay an only child! I wish I was an only child cause I hates sharing my Mom with Midi T. Kitty. But, Mom says she was here first and she's staying.
Sigh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for stopping by our blog! Too bad you like your mama to yourself...just ask Chloe, Zoey, Rosie and Marty how much fun they have together....well.....most of the time that is!
Hi Eduardo. I think that there is nothing wrong with you being an only child and wanting your mommy all to yourself. Sharing is overrated!! Your mommy did a good thing by testing out the waters first, and making a realistic decision. Now you can go back to having mommy all to yourself!
Hugs, Bruschi
PS- Daddy wants to get me a playmate too, but mommy doesn't want to share ME! BOL!
Don't apologize for making a decision about that is best for all of you. That is much better than trying something, when you have misgivings about it, then having to give another dog up/away.
Besides, with only one of you, it's all you all of the time, for me!

Being an only child isn't so bad, Eduardo. I was an "only" for a long time before Mitch came along and it was very nice and peaceful! Shall I go on?! heheheheh
Love ya lots,
Maggie
Eduardo, there's nothing wrong with being an only dog!!!! I was an only cat until my sisfurs came. They needed a home. Mom lets me have my own room though,so I am happy. I do not get along with them too much. I am 15 and they are 5.
Enjoy getting spoiled by your Mom & Dad!!!!

Eduardo's Mommy - It is not mean to make the decision that Eduardo is an only dog! It is a wise decision, and you are good to make such a choice. And The Girl says she knows what you mean; I might be an only dog, too! I don't like to share her either, and she doesn't know if she wants to divide herself between me and another doggy.
And you get to have play dates with doggies you like! It's a good day, isn't it!
Brown dog kisses,
Dannan
Hi, Eduardo!
I don't have a problem sharing my mom.
Being an only child is great! Yes, all the attention is for you!
Kisses and hugs

Eduardo..... we do understand!!! There are over 30 of us here.... and we all want mommy to ourselves.... she is worn-out most of the time. That is NO fun!!!! Don't apologize...

I've been giving mine a hard time too over whether to have just me alone or have another sibling hehe...So far I'm still the only child hehe...So I guess you'll do just fine.
My Mummy agrees with everything you said. I am a very happy only child, I don't like sharing.

Hi Eduardo! Thanks for sharing your mom's thoughts about getting another doggy. I was thinking that, too, because Coco spends lots of hours by himself at home and I thought it would be nice for him to have someone to play with. But, first of all, my lease says "only one dog". Second, money. Coco needs monthly visits to the vet and medicine and I really need to focus on him being well before getting into more responsibilities. Third, hubby thinks he is allergic to dogs. He is allergic to cats, and now his doc told him he might be to dogs. Hubby said last week that Coco will be our last dog ever and that was very depressing for me (VERY). Another dog right now will be like double dose of allergens for him. I am waiting for his doc to prescribe something for the allergies and someday we will move out to a tiled house... for now, I try to take Coco out during the weekends for some fun: to the park, the beach, pug meetups, the mall, etc.
Eduardo, are you SURE you want to be an only puggle? Cuz I will be HAPPY to ship you my fat sister AnnieSmelly rite now. Jest give me your address and I will have her in the mail to yew pronto.
your thoughtful friend,
Howie
Wise decision!

Play dates and making friends is a great way to share in small portions. We are glad it all worked for everyone.
I keep forgetting to tell you that the new picture on your header is so cute! Eduardo is just the cutest puggle ever!
Hugs,
Puglette

An only child sounds good too Eduardo. :)

Eduardo - I think it's pretty cool that you get to be an only child and get all of your mom and dad's attention. If they ever change their mind, I will be happy to send Comet your way.

Its great to be an only child (I remember when I used to be one). You get all the attention and toys and chewies and, well, EVERYTHING!
